Fraternity History
Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated, was founded on September 19, 1963 at Morgan State College, now University, on the steps of Hertz Gymnasium by 12 great men. Iota Phi Theta was incorporated in the state of Maryland on November 1, 1968. Iota Phi Theta became a member of the Pan Hellenic Council in the late 1960s and later resigned. We became a member again in the mid 1990s. We are having our 40th anniversary and the National Conclave was held in Chicago, IL.
Chapter History
The Eta Chapter of Iota Phi Theta was founded at Virginia State College, now University in 1970.
